“Arise! Shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD shines upon you.” - Isaiah 60:1
Have you ever been with a group of people, at a party perhaps, when someone arrives and the whole room brightens up and becomes more alive? I have one friend who does just this. As soon as I see her minivan pull up, I know smiles and joy are not far behind. Her light shines bright!
It’s true for all of us. When we believe God is real and active in our lives, He places His light within us. As our faith grows, we can let God’s love and light shine through us to the hurting and the oppressed, to our friends and family, and to all we meet.
How bright is your light shining these days? Are you tired and need more rest? Are you depleted and need to be filled up? Are you running so fast you might crash soon? If you’re exhausted and running on empty, your light will dim and you’ll feel the darkness around you. Let this be a “wake up call” from God asking you to slow down and reevaluate your brightness.
Ask God to come close, to fill you with His light so you can Arise and Shine Bright. Be a lifter of spirits in every room you enter.
