LOVE! Bible Study - God is LOVE

We know and rely on the love God has for us.  God is love.  Whoever lives in love, lives in God, and God in them. – 1 John 4:6

I am beyond excited to embark on this incredible, life changing journey with you.  We are in pursuit of a better understanding of God’s great love for us.  Together, we will learn how to love God more powerfully, love ourselves more purposely, and others more profoundly.  God is going to set our hearts on fire as we put love in motion.  That my friends, is living life to the fullest! (John 10:10)

What holds you back from loving God more fully?  Did you grow up believing love must be earned?  Did you love, only to be hurt and heartbroken?  Have you looked to God for healing and help but feel He didn’t come through for you?  Did your disappointment lead you to doubt God’s love?  Do you find it difficult to love a God you can’t physically touch?  We all have thoughts that hinder our love for God from flowing constant and strong. 

God is love.  Therefore, God has no hurdles to jump over when it comes to loving you. For God, loving you is like breathing.  God doesn’t have make a decision or need to be reminded to love you. Nothing and no one can separate God’s love from you. (Romans 8:38-39) You are fully loved.

God’s love is like no other!

Over these next few weeks, you will be prompted to collect, document, and share your love stories.  Your collection of stories will grow as we spur one another on to put love into action.  The most challenging exercise we’ll tackle will be choosing to love someone we currently find difficult to love.

Decide today that your heart is open to experiencing more of God’s love.  What you think about, comes about, because out of your heart flows your attitudes, perspectives, and decisions. (Proverbs 4:23)

A great way to start this journey of LOVE is simply say, “Thank You God for loving me!” 

Let your heart fill with gratitude for a love that is consistent, unchanging, and forever. Don’t be surprised when your heart starts waking up to God’s love more and more throughout the day.

Daily Reminder: 

A great way to start your LOVE journey is to Thank God for loving you!  His love is constant, unchanging, and forever.  Ask God to grow your understanding of His great love.

Real Life Reflection Questions:

1.          What currently holds you back from loving God more?

2.          What is the first word that pops into your mind when you hear the word LOVE?

3.         Circle the area where you want to see the most growth over the next six weeks.

WHY SO?

QUICK PRAYER –

Lord God,

I want to know You and love You more. 

You say that You are love.  Why is it hard for me to comprehend Your love?

Please guide me through these next six weeks.  Increase my love, so I can love You powerfully!

Thank You for loving me, all of me, just as I am.
